IDENTIFICATION: Verify the complete MPN, suffix, serial/date code, hardware revision and firmware against the product label. Capacity variants, factory heatsinks and regional SKUs may differ; the link and rated data below apply only to the specified configuration where the manufacturer identifies it.

Manufacturer-identified specifications

Product / MPNWD_BLACK SN750 1 TB — WDS100T3X0C (bare-module SKU; compare full label suffix)
Capacity / form factor1 TB; M.2 2280, bare module.
Interface / lane widthPCIe 3.0 x4.
ProtocolNVMe 1.3.
Rated performance / enduranceSequential up to 3,470 MB/s read and 3,000 MB/s write (1 TB SKU); 600 TBW endurance (1 TB SKU).
Model era2019 product generation; check manufacturer lifecycle/support notice.
Heatsink / revisionA bare module. SN750 was also sold in a factory-heatsink edition with a different SKU; the motherboard cover may not fit over that tall heatsink.

Compatibility, installation & service

  • Check the exact WDS100T3X0C suffix against the label; WDS100T3XHC is the distinct factory-heatsink family code. M.2 2280 shape does not imply NVMe support in a given socket. Boot support and lane sharing are board/UEFI-specific; PCIe 4/5 hosts may run this drive at Gen3 link speed.
  • Read the host manual for M-key PCIe/NVMe signaling, 2280 mounting, bootable NVMe support, and any SATA-port or PCIe-lane sharing. Use either the board heatsink or compatible factory heatsink SKU, never force the cover against a tall module. Monitor SMART temperature under sustained writes; throttling depends on airflow and host cooling. Verify firmware and use WD Dashboard only where the specific drive remains supported; back up before updates or service.
  • Do not hot-plug an M.2 module unless the server/platform manual explicitly documents hot-plug support. Shut down cleanly, disconnect standby power when instructed, and use electrostatic-discharge precautions during handling.
  • Before replacing a boot drive, verify a recoverable backup, OS recovery media, encryption keys, firmware settings and the target system’s boot mode; physical fit does not establish compatibility.

Manufacturer ratings are model/capacity-specific and measured under stated vendor conditions; they are not guarantees of sustained speed in every host. Confirm current datasheet/manual, support status and warranty in the manufacturer’s regional support portal before deployment.
