Product / MPNTEAMGROUP T-FORCE Z540 2 TB — TM8FF1002T0C129
Capacity / form factor2 TB; M.2 2280.
Interface / host lanesPCIe 5.0 x4. Host link negotiates to the supported socket, CPU/chipset lane allocation and firmware; verify system manual.
ProtocolNVMe; product-family revision as identified in the linked manufacturer documentation. Verify exact revision for OEM units.
Sequential performance / enduranceUp to 12,400 MB/s read and 11,800 MB/s write; 1,200 TBW. These are vendor ratings, not guaranteed sustained host results.
Controller / NAND or mediaPhison E26 controller and 3D TLC NAND.
Thermal / service detailBare low-profile module; board heatsink and airflow recommended.

Compatibility, boot, installation & service

  • Check the system manual for NVMe signaling, drive length/carrier, lane sharing, PCIe generation, BIOS/UEFI NVMe boot support, and any supported-device list. Confirm that the target operating system includes a compatible NVMe driver (or vendor-required driver) for both installation and boot. Physical fit is not boot compatibility.
  • Client M.2 drives need a compatible M-key NVMe socket and adequate module/heatsink clearance. Enterprise U.2/U.3 or add-in card units require a supported carrier/backplane, power, cooling and firmware; SATA-only 2.5-inch bays are not NVMe paths.
  • Factory heatsinks and thermal pads are model-specific. Do not stack covers or remove heatsinks unless vendor service instructions allow it; airflow affects sustained performance and thermals.
  • Maintain backups; before replacing a boot drive confirm recovery media, encryption keys, UEFI settings and host support. Shut down fully, remove standby power as directed and use ESD precautions. Do not hot-plug unless platform documentation explicitly permits it.
