Product / MPNKingston KC3000 2 TB (SKC3000D/2048G) — SKC3000D/2048G
Capacity / form factor2 TB; M.2 2280, double-sided module.
Interface / lane widthPCIe 4.0 x4.
ProtocolNVMe 1.4.
Rated performance / enduranceSequential up to 7,000 MB/s read and 7,000 MB/s write; 1,600 TBW endurance for 2 TB.

Heatsink / revisionThin graphene-aluminum heat spreader label; no tall factory heatsink on this SKU. Double-sided clearance matters on compact boards and laptop sockets.

Compatibility, installation & service

  • Model-specific capacity and side layout are important for single-sided-only chassis. A compatible PCIe/NVMe M-key socket and adequate board support are required. System UEFI must provide NVMe boot for OS startup; using it as data storage can work on systems that cannot boot NVMe, subject to OS/driver support.
  • Check the exact SKC3000D capacity suffix, M.2 standoff length, socket depth, and manufacturer/host clearance notes; do not bend a double-sided module or compress it against a laptop shield. Consult the board manual for lane sharing and thermal-pad thickness. Maintain backups and verify firmware/SMART using Kingston support tools where supported; remove the module only after clean OS shutdown and power-off.
  • Do not hot-plug an M.2 module unless the server/platform manual explicitly documents hot-plug support. Shut down cleanly, disconnect standby power when instructed, and use electrostatic-discharge precautions during handling.
  • Before replacing a boot drive, verify a recoverable backup, OS recovery media, encryption keys, firmware settings and the target system’s boot mode; physical fit does not establish compatibility.
