ASUS Pro WS W680-ACE IPMI
ATX LGA1700 Intel W680 workstation board with integrated IPMI/BMC management. This page records the exact printed model and revision policy with manufacturer references.
MODEL / REVISION: Exact model suffix “IPMI” is part of the SKU; no separate retail PCB revision is named in the referenced ASUS product specification. Check the board silkscreen.
Specifications
| Exact model / revision | ASUS Pro WS W680-ACE IPMI — Exact model suffix “IPMI” is part of the SKU; no separate retail PCB revision is named in the referenced ASUS product specification. Check the board silkscreen. |
|---|---|
| CPU and socket | One LGA1700 socket for listed 12th/13th/14th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron CPUs; support depends on CPU list and installed BIOS. |
| Chipset / platform | Intel W680. |
| Board size | ATX, 305 × 244 mm (12 × 9.6 in). |
| Memory / ECC / registered | Four DDR5 ECC/non-ECC UDIMM slots; ECC UDIMM operation is CPU-dependent. Maximum memory and speed follow ASUS specification/QVL; RDIMMs are not supported. |
| PCIe / lanes | CPU-connected PCIe 5.0 x16-length slot(s), plus chipset PCIe 4.0/3.0 x16-length and x1 slots; electrical widths and sharing follow the ASUS manual lane table. |
| Storage | Three M.2 sockets with PCIe 4.0 x4 modes plus four SATA 6 Gb/s ports; consult manual for socket-mode and lane-sharing limits. |
| Networking / BMC | Dual Intel 2.5GbE ports plus dedicated BMC management LAN; ASPEED AST2600. Wi-Fi is not listed as onboard for this SKU. |
| Firmware / compatibility | Check ASUS CPU support list and BIOS before installing 14th-generation processors. ECC works only with compatible CPU/UDIMM combinations. Preserve BMC and system firmware versions separately; management features require a configured BMC LAN and secured credentials. |
Compatibility and revision notes
Check ASUS CPU support list and BIOS before installing 14th-generation processors. ECC works only with compatible CPU/UDIMM combinations. Preserve BMC and system firmware versions separately; management features require a configured BMC LAN and secured credentials.
Before installation, verify the physical revision and assembly label, CPU support list and minimum BIOS; confirm the exact memory type (UDIMM versus registered DIMM), channel population, chassis form factor, PCIe lane routing and storage connector modes against the linked vendor manual. A mechanically compatible socket does not guarantee CPU, firmware, ECC or lane compatibility.
Preservation and service
Record BIOS and BMC versions, serial and MAC labels, installed processors and DIMM part numbers, risers/cables, and test conditions. Use ESD-safe handling, correct socket procedure and chassis airflow. Do not cross-flash firmware from a similarly named board or revision.
