Compatibility and service notes

  • Requires an LGA1700 motherboard with BIOS support for the exact CPU. Intel 600-series boards were introduced with Alder Lake; later 700-series boards also support it when validated by the maker. DDR4 and DDR5 are alternatives chosen by the motherboard design—never interchangeable in one board. The K multiplier is unlocked; CPU ratio overclocking requires suitable board firmware/chipset and cooling.
  • Alder Lake combines P-cores and E-cores; thread count is not twice core count because Hyper-Threading applies to P-cores. KF variants omit integrated graphics; the cataloged K model has UHD Graphics 770.
  • Before installation, compare the full processor marking with the motherboard maker’s support list and minimum BIOS, then confirm cooler mounting, memory type, power delivery, and firmware settings. Socket fit alone does not establish compatibility; never force the package.

Service & archival record

Record the full model/ordering code and S-spec, stepping, board revision, BIOS/microcode, memory configuration, cooler, power profile, physical condition, provenance, and source revision. Separate measured behavior from published specifications.

Handle the package by its edges and protect socket contacts. Inspect for contamination, damaged pads/pins, and uneven cooler pressure before use.
